Modelling the microstructure evolution in multicomponent alloys during the process of additive manufacturing. The ultimate goal of the research is to develop generic models that are valid for a wide range of alloy systems as well as different additive manufacturing processes. At the start of the project, two material systems were selected in demonstrative purposes: nickel-based superalloys (IN718 and IN625) and high-perfomance amorphous alloys.
