Stefanos Athanasopoulos will be defending his PhD thesis, entitled "Multiscale granular mechanics: A neutron diffraction based experimental approach", at a public seminar on Friday, the 11th of October at 13.15, in room M:E of the M-building of LTH in Lund (Ole Römers väg, 1). Dr Chris Wensrich, from the University of Newcastle in Australia, has been appointed as a faculty opponent.
Johan Hektor will defend his doctoral dissertation entitled:
Tin whiskers: experiments and modelling.
The defence start at 10.15, Friday 25th January 2019 in room M:E, M-building, Ole Römers väg 1, Lund Institute of Technology, Lund. The faculty opponent is Dr Henry Proudhon, Mines ParisTech, France.
M. Ristinmaa and H. Hallberg are guest editors for a special issue of the journal Crystal. The topic of this special issue is "Recrystallization of Metallic Materials" and it is open for submissions until August 1st 2018. On Wednesday 7/11, Axel Henningsson will present his Bachelor Thesis. The title of Axel’s thesis is: 3DXRD Reconstructions for Intragranular Resolution: a Forward Model for scanning-3DXRD”.
The presentation will take place in the coffee room, third floor, M-building, starting at 14:00.
On Friday 19/10, Viktor Hultgren will present his Bachelor Thesis. Viktor has been working on the coupling of phase field models with crystal plasticity for simulating intermetallics in the Cu-Sn system.
The presentation will take place in the coffee room, third floor, M-building, starting at 16:00.
On Thursday the 20th of September Johan Hektor will give a seminar about his doctoral thesis titled "Tin whiskers: experiments and modelling". The seminar will be held in the conference room, third floor, M-building, starting at 10:15.
On Friday the 7th of September, Gustav Lindberg will give a seminar where he will present his doctoral thesis entitled "On the growth of bone through stress driven diffusion and bone generation processes". The seminar will take place in M:E starting at 10.15.
On Friday, the 1st of June, there will be two presentations:
- Pontus Thuresson will present his thesis entitled "Modelling static and dynamic loads on TFA packages during packing, distribution and storing", at 10:15, room M:D, M-building.
- Johannes Nyberg and Filip Lotzke will present their thesis entitled "Top Load Compression Analysis of Primary and Secondary Package". The presentation will be held in the conference room, third floor, M-building, starting at 13:00.
Johan Hektor has been awarded "The Sandvik award in mechanics of materials" with the motivation "For the development of a multiphase field model capturing the chemomechanical mechanisms behind tin whisker growth in aging Cu-Sn systems".
Jonas Engqvist was presented with the Best thesis award at the MAX IV Laboratory with the motivation "For showing an innovative use of synchrotron light from the MAX IV Laboratory" for his doctorial thesis "Mechanical behaviour of glassy polymers: experiments and modelling".
