Research activities

Development of both numerical optimization design methods and new functional materials. The objectives of the project are to develop:

  • Topology optimization strategies able to handle finite strain plasticity such that e.g. the energy absorption can be optimized using gradient based optimization.
  • Numerical simulation tools for the design of non-linear isotropic meta-materials.
